Myrtle Beach-Humid, So Drink Up!

So I am down at the beach of Myrtle, and it it is pretty hot and humid here. If you stand outside for at least 4 seconds, you will already have burned over 400 calories! Well maybe thats not completly true, but if you will sweat and lose some water weight if you are outside and you are being active. Even the lazy sport of Golf is being active and I promise you will look like you just jumped in the ocean with your polo shirt and golf shorts on!

As long as we are on the topic of water weight loss, it is very important to make sure you are staying hydrated druing the summer months and especially when it is humid because more people sweat and lose hydration. I know I have talked about this before but it is good to bring up again.

Many people think that they have done good because after they exercise outside they have lost 5-7 pounds, but it is really just water and not true fat loss.  I remember one day at practice in college during preseason I lost 14 pounds of water during that one practice. (IT WAS HOT AND HUMID!)  So with the weight loss, comes rehydration. Your body can't live without water, and especially since you are going to be exercising and performing at high levels.

Just remember to drink half your body weight in Ounces everyday and maybe even more if you are exercising strenuously.

Besides hydrating your body, this will also flush out your system getting rid of toxins and help you lose bodyfat as well.

Also, check out this link for a Hydration Calculator at About.com. They give a little quiz for you to tune you in more on how much water to drink.   http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm

I'll See you later!
