HOW TO REPLACE INSTALL GMC CADILLAC BOSE AMP IN A YUKON ESCALADE

Hey everyone! Well I finally got around to a project that has been on the back burner for quite some time.  And I finally completed it and made a video about it so hopefully it helps someone that has the same issue or needs to complete the same project. So here we go....

About 9 months ago I happened to leave my moonroof tilted up about 1 inch on my 2004 GMC Yukon Denali.  That night it rained a lot! And I forgot about it being opened. The next day I didn't even notice any water or dampness inside the Yukon when I got in to drive. But then when i turned the radio on and turned up the volume, I heard a loud electronic POP in my speakers. And I thought somehow the system just blew because then my radio sound would not work.  Finally a day later, sound came back to my speakers. So i thought nothing of it until.....

My battery died, then I charged it, then it died 2 days later, then I charged it, then it died 1 day later, and back and forth back and forth.  I didn't know what to do or what to test.  Eventually I figured out with a volt meter that my BOSE AMP in the vehicle was drawing too much power while the ignition was off and so I need to pull the fuse for it. If I pulled the fuse, my battery was fine and I didn't have to recharge. But that also meant that if I wanted to listen to the radio, then I had to pop the fuse in before and take it out after. This was aggravating when driving a when new 55,000 dollar vehicle.

I found out that only a BOSE Amp could be installed to fix it and that they were anywhere from 500-600 dollars plus about 400 dollars for installation. I was not about to pay 1,000 bucks for a new amp, so I have been searching around Salvage yards for a BOSE Amp from a Yukon Denali or a Cadillac Escalade.  Any year from 2003-2006 will work as long as it is a 6 disc changer amp.  My part number for this amp is #15114454.  After I switched it out my battery issued was solved and I don't have any flickering of lights either.  Because i think the shortage was causing a disturbance in my electrical system.

So whether this is your problem or you want to replace it and bypass the system (which my take a little more work) you need to check out the step by step video I made to help you replace and install the BOSE AMP for a 2003-2006 Yukon Denali or Cadillac Escalade. And both models of Yukon XL or Escalade EXT.  I don't think that the CHEVROLET LTZ TAHOE has this amp, but I am not sure.

Watch how to install or replace your Bose amplifier in your Yukon Denali or your Cadillac Escalade. The job is pretty simple and all you need is a phillips screwdriver.
