So the new Instagram video feature will allow users to take 15 seconds of video, and then add a filter to the video just like the picture side of the app. This is a cool feature as compared to Vines 6.5 seconds and no filters. With the 15 seconds, you can record clips just like the Vine app but with the Instagram App users will be able to delete or remove the last clip of video they shot in case something didn't turn out right for them. Just hit a delete button to remove 1 or more clips. In Vines case, you can't delete anything, even if you shoot a spectacular mini movie almost being Oscar worthy and then mess up on the last clip. SORRY, try again. But that is the challenge of the Vine app that a lot of users love!
With the Instagram video feature, you will also be able to add a cinema effect, which is video stabilization. This will be useful when you are running and trying to capture a squirrel on video that just stole your Starbucks cookie! This will crop and take away camera shake.
You can also choose which part of the video you want to be your thumbnail. (very cool feature) Instagram video will load just like pictures, you will still put in your description and tags and be able to share to a variety of social networks.
The new Instagram video feature should be pretty cool and will probably bring in more traffic for the app and take away some from Vine's. But remember that Instagram videos can be as long as 15 seconds, and in today's tech age of short attention spans, who has 15 seconds to watch a video when you can watch one in 6.5?
Both Apps will be fun and entertaining, so you might as well use them both and keep taking pics of food, feet, cats and the random things of everyday life.
