Thanksgiving will almost be here and people will be talking, texting, tweeting, and taking pictures during the Holidays to upload to Instagram. Food pictures are always popular on Instagram no matter how good or bad they look. But users do have some great and creative pictures out there too, so it is a great social media site to be a part of. In a new article from instagramers.com, accounts are being deleted that post any type of URL or bit.ly links in the comment section under user pictures. Especially some of the users who have a large following will get a lot of comments that have links to other websites to tempt users who read them to click and go to their website. Instagram is not to be used as a site for self promotion and spam.
So Instagram is taking this matter very seriously and is deleting or disabling accounts because of Spammers. This type of abuse still happens on Twitter and is really annoying! Have you ever gotten a message from someone on twitter that says something like "someone is saying really nasty things about you, click here to see" or "I can't believe you didn't know about that camera in the room" with a link to click. All are schemes to get you to click and go to there website. All possiblities are open to be links to viruses as well, so BEWARE!
