SLENDER VIDEO GAME - SCARE THE BEJEEZUS OUT OF YOU!

So you should check out this new game that is pretty much going viral all over the internet and peoples computers.... It is a free downloadable game that is catching fire pretty fast!  I heard about it briefly a few weeks ago and never looked into it. But now today really saw what it was all about for the first time.

Basically it has the feel of a 1st person shooter game that is roaming around a fenced in wooded area in the dark. You have a flashlight to look around, but the battery will die if you use it too much.  You roam around a woods, buildings and other obstacles looking for these pages that have clues on them. You need to find 8 pages.  Oh yeah, by the way, while you are walking in the dark conserving battery power, not seeing anything, and listening to hauntingly scary music; the SLENDER MAN is chasing you. And when he does the music scares the BEJEEZUS out of you and the screen goes to static with a outline of the Slender Man in it.

As you find pages, the Slender Man can catch up to you, so you must run. But then you get tired and have to slow down.  This game really pulls you in with the music, having to run from something and not be able to see anything that you really get knocked off guard when the Slender man catches you! Very cool, and not for the faint of heart!  Check it out, its free to download.

Unnecessary Ingredients in Pancakes...Try these Instead!

So I went to the grocery store this morning for a few things and while I was in there I thought I should get some pancake mix. (Easier, Faster, Gooder) Well I learned later that none of those 3 qualities were true!  As I looked at which Pancake mix to get, I noticed all of them said that you just add water.  And then I thought, well that can't be good if you just add water to a bunch of dry floured ingredients.  So i started looking at the ingredients and I couldn't believe the types of ingredients in a simple Pancake mix, (even though I wasn't surprised either).  The following is taken from a certain company and is pretty much a general list for most mixes:

INGREDIENTS: ENRICHED BLEACHED FLOUR (BLEACHED WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, RIBOFLAVIN, FOLIC ACID), SUGAR, LEAVENING (SODIUM BICARBONATE, SODIUM ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE, MONOCALCIUM PHOSPHATE), DEXTROSE, DRIED BUTTERMILK, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, SALT, WHEAT GLUTEN, DEFATTED SOY FLOUR, CALCIUM CARBONATE, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, NONFAT DRY MILK, SOY LECITHIN, SODIUM CASEINATE, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, SOYBEAN OIL, LACTIC ACID.

Can someone tell me why there are at least 25 ingredients in this pancake mix, which most of them are not even needed and very unhealthy for you?  It blows my mind what the food industry is putting in our food. And if the average consumer does not look at the list, they end up eating it and it goes to work destroying their bodies.  Why does corn syrup solids need to be in there? Soybean oil? Soy lecithin?  If you haven't figured this out yet, there is corn and soy in just about all our foods sold at the grocery store and it is very harmful to our bodies in the quantities that are taken in. Why do you think America is so overweight and Obese?

Ok, so I obviously decided to not buy pancake mix and just make my own. Like I said, I soon learned that my pancakes would be easier, faster, and gooder than the mixes I saw. (yes I know gooder is not a word! how bout yummier?!)

So heres the recipe I used. It was very easy. I just threw the ingredients into the mixer while the skillet was getting hot with coconut oil. This took all of 3 minutes and then I added freshly picked blueberries to the mix. (local blueberry farm)  This recipe made five 6 inch diameter pancakes.  And they were very delicious especially since I used my parents REAL maple syrup from our own trees, to top them with.

So definitely go this way instead of putting all of the above list into your body. First thing to do is, perform 50 pushups, 50 situps, and 50 bodyweight squats. Drink 8 oz of water. Ok now cook....

Buttermilk Pancakes

1 Cup Flour
2 tsp Xylitol
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 egg
1 Cup Buttermilk
2 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp Vanilla

Mix the egg, buttermilk first. Then add the dry ingredients. Then add the butter and vanilla.  Add blueberries, cut strawberrries, peaches or bananas.  Top with "Real" Maple Syrup (Not High Fructose Corn Syrup maple flavored syrup)

Enjoy!

Rest 30 minutes after eating, perform 50 pushups, 50 situps, and 50 bodyweight squats!

Get better everyday!

90lb Weighted Abs Give You Thick Ab Muscles!

I posted a video today on the importance of Weighted Abs. What are weighted abs you ask? Simple. They are Abdominal exercises that you perform using weight. Wow, you have never heard of such a thing? Well thats why your abs you have now are flat, soft, and maybe even jiggly.... Ha ha!

So you have been just doing 3 sets of 20 situps or crunches or some type of leg raise or bicycle kicks huh? Or maybe you are doing like 100 or 200 reps of something and not really feeling any type of burn. This is why your ab routine is not helping you get the abs you really want.

This is where performing weighted ab exercises really gives you that deep tissue burn and makes those Core muscles nice and thick.  This is how all the ripped guys and girls do it.  I guarantee if you asked anyone who has ripped abs and has noticeable "crevices" on their stomach, will tell you that they use some type of weighted or resisted ab exercise to give them that chiseled look.

So next time you are doing your sets of Ab exercises during your workout, remember to pick up a weight or med ball and perform weighted situps, toe touches, jackknives, crunches, suitcase crunch, and so on...  This will give you a better burn and workout for your abs.

Remember, an easy tip to use when performing abs.  Complete your reps until you feel a good burn and then complete 15-20 more reps until you rest. This will ensure a nice burn and contractions to the muscles for  repair and growth later.  Instead of just completing 20 reps on your sets, you will be able to push yourself a little farther everytime and complete more reps with more weight.

Check out my video here on basic weighted situps. I get up to 90lbs performing them.  You gotta go hard and make it tough on yourself or you wont get anywhere and get the results you want.

Keep working everyday to get better!

Smoking vs Living...It's your Choice!

Ok, not really sure what this post is going to hit on but....oh yeah, I remember....DON'T SMOKE if you want to LIVE!

Alright, now that I pissed off some smokers and they quickly closed the page and went somewhere else...(all 2 of them), the other 6 people that read this post can listen to me tell them why living is so much more important than smoking cancer sticks....

So today, I was at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green and I could smell smoke like someone was in the backseat, and just lit up a cigarette.  Well I look over to my right, and there is a woman in a car holding on to that cigarette in her left hand while she is on the phone with her right hand.  Well, besides not having a third hand to drive the car, I see tubes coming out of her nostrils....  Of all things, this woman is using an oxygen tank to breath and she is puffing away on a cigarette!  Plus the car is just filled with smoke like it came straight from a Cheech and Chong movie! How stubborn, idiotic, moronic, or just plain stupid can you be.  Apparently this woman is so hard up for cigarettes and smoking, (already killing lungs) that she does not care that she can hardly breathe on her own and could possibly die.

I guess she thinks since her lungs have hit rock bottom, and if she wants to continue smoking she needs to get an oxygen tank to feed her O2, so she can carry on this wonderful, beautiful,  and healthy habit.

I just don't understand people and their thinking these days as why they do not want to be healthy and do not really think about what they are doing to their bodies.  I mean really; does she not see what other people look like, act like, talk like, or smell like that also have this disgusting and unhealthy habit?

Yes, people have a choice, and yes they can do whatever they want. BUT, they do not have a choice when they have destroyed their bodies so much with unhealthy foods, alcohol abuse, drugs and tobacco that their body gives up on them and decides to pass from this world.  Yes, its all fun and games with eating unhealthy food and having unhealthy habits, but you will pay for it later!

Get healthy, stay healthy, and live life to the fullest!

Static Core Ab Workout

I have a great Ab exercise for you to try. It's so easy, well not really easy in the sense of physically doing it, but in the sense of actually having time and space to do it.  You can perform this while you are watching TV in your living room.  I am talking to you, the person sitting in front of the TV watching Jersey Shore, or some other reality show that is wasting your time. So put down your laptop, get on the floor and burn some calories!

Lay on your stomach, and raise your body up on just your Elbows/forearms and your toes.  Static Core, Planks, Boes and Toes are what some people call this exercise.  This is an isometric exercise so after raising your body up, you will just hold this position for as long as you can.  After about 30 secs you will feel a good burn around your core area.  Try holding a minutue, then rest a minute and go again!

You can also raise up on both your Left side and your Right side as well to hit those Obliques.

This is a great ab exercise to include in your workouts. Wanna see how to do it? Well then check out the video I posted for it.

Killer Complex Workout!!!

I have a workout that I have been saving and I am not sure why. Because everyone needs to include this in their daily workout routine. It can be used as a warm up set or can be used as a workout all by itself.  Most of it comes from Javorek's Complex but has some modifications.  It is called a complex because of the many different movements that are put together  all in one exercise.

This Complex is great for beginners who need to learn the technical movements of Olympic lifts. This complex helps with learning it.  Always start with the 45lb barbell and then progress from there. Even if you are using this as a warmup before your workout, use just the bar. (Even if you are jacked and swoll!) When you start progressing, you will use 25% of your bodyweight on the barbell and progress weekly only 5% at a time.  You will max out around 50%-60% of your bodyweight on the bar.  If you are not advanced it may take you 2 weeks at lets say 30% before moving to 35%.  You need to be able to move the bar correctly and not have any weaknesses.

The movements are High Pull, Hang Snatch, Squat-Press, RDL(Straight Leg Deadlift), Bent Over Row.  Completing each movement 6 times times 5 movements equals 30 reps total till you put the bar down.  If you are using this for a warmup you will only do this 2-3 sets. For a full workout, you complete this 6 total sets with 2-3 mins rest in between each set. (can complete abs at this time if you want)

Here is how to perform:

High Pull-Stand with bar in hands in athletic position-Pull barbell to chin with elbows up

Hang Snatch-Stand with bar in hands in athletic position-Pull barbell all the way over head-keeping bar close to body, and not pressing the bar. Explosive movement

Squat Press- Stand with Barbell behind your head resting on your shoulders, Squat parallel and stand then press the bar overhead after the squat. Return bar behind the head onto your shoulders.

RDL(Straight Leg Deadlift)--Keep legs straight with knees slightly bent, stand with bar in hands in athletic position, bend over and reach for your toes, keeping your head and eyes up with a flat back. Return to upright position

Bent Over Row- Stand with bar in hands in an athletic postion, bend over and keep your back straight with head and eyes up, let the bar hang below you. Pull the bar to your chest and return. Complete 6 reps.

After completing all 30 reps you will now know why this is a Killer Warmup or Workout.  I guarantee after putting this in your routine, you will notice a difference in strength levels with other lifts, technique skills and better cardiovascular strength while completing any conditioning. Give it a try and let me know how it worked out for you.

Start at 25% for 5 Exercises X 6 Reps--30 reps each set, 6 Sets for 180 reps total
Or 2-3 Sets of 25-30% of Bodyweight

Myrtle Beach-Humid, So Drink Up!

So I am down at the beach of Myrtle, and it it is pretty hot and humid here. If you stand outside for at least 4 seconds, you will already have burned over 400 calories! Well maybe thats not completly true, but if you will sweat and lose some water weight if you are outside and you are being active. Even the lazy sport of Golf is being active and I promise you will look like you just jumped in the ocean with your polo shirt and golf shorts on!

As long as we are on the topic of water weight loss, it is very important to make sure you are staying hydrated druing the summer months and especially when it is humid because more people sweat and lose hydration. I know I have talked about this before but it is good to bring up again.

Many people think that they have done good because after they exercise outside they have lost 5-7 pounds, but it is really just water and not true fat loss.  I remember one day at practice in college during preseason I lost 14 pounds of water during that one practice. (IT WAS HOT AND HUMID!)  So with the weight loss, comes rehydration. Your body can't live without water, and especially since you are going to be exercising and performing at high levels.

Just remember to drink half your body weight in Ounces everyday and maybe even more if you are exercising strenuously.

Besides hydrating your body, this will also flush out your system getting rid of toxins and help you lose bodyfat as well.

Also, check out this link for a Hydration Calculator at About.com. They give a little quiz for you to tune you in more on how much water to drink.   http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm

HAPPY 4th

Happy 4th of July! I hope all is well, and remember our troops that fight for our freedom overseas and how hot it would be to wear full gear, instead of us playing in the pool and lake with just a swimsuit on.  Freedom comes with a price and everyone needs to remember that!

As for today and tonight, there were a lot of fireworks to stop and see. Many cities had their own little firework shin dig along with the many subdivisions that rallied together their stash of works to have their own little mini show.  Lots to see, but still very dry and I wonder how many things caught on fire tonight. Also I wonder how many people ended up in the emergency room tonight because they were shooting bottle rockets or roman candles at each other???

Stay safe and finish this week out with some great celebration for our country and maybe a little for yourself as well!

Later!

CHILD ABUSE-HFCS-Sugar

So I guess I better first apologize to all those human/children rights activists or whatever they are called, that get very mad and want to sue parents for disciplining (spanking) their child in public, or even in private.....Don't read this if this is you!

Ha, ha I wanted to make a big deal about that because they get mad when parents discipline their children (not hit) in public. BUT when parents are feeding their 9 month, 1yr, 18 month, 2 year old child high sugary, high greasy, high salty, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP foods they don't seem to care about that at all. Is this not child abuse? The child is going to be a diabetic by the time they are 3-5 years old.

I am saying all this because I saw a 16 month old girl today that weighed 42 pounds!!!! UM,  I know that fat america is not normal america anymore, but that still is not normal!  A 2 year old should weigh 30-35 pounds.....And this was not some very big boned child with healthy strongman genetics;  it was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michelin! Wearing size 6 diapers, and 3T clothes!

The parents should not see this as cute and chubby, but dangerous because the eating habits are horrible. I learn that she ate tater tots for breakfast and cookies and pepsi for snacks.  Plus they over feed her at many meals.  TELL ME THIS IS NOT CHILD ABUSE! Come on America, do you not see what you are doing to your children and to the future?  We really will end up like all the people on the spaceship from the movie Wall-E...Sugar in a cup, and no exercise anyone?

What happened to eating normal healthy foods like eggs, nuts, chicken, salad, fruits, vegetables, fish, steak?  I like my food real and not genetically modified (FAKE).  Its just cardboard with a little flavoring, oh and corn syrup, pesticides, formaldehyde, and a dash of poison! Sounds good right?

Dig in America or take back your future!

Fixing a Honda Civic is Easy

So, I just posted a new video on my channel. Check it out if you want to see how to change your brake pads on your Honda Civic. (and really very similar to other vehicles as well)  You really do not need any special tools to save yourself about 150-200 bucks. I really like how mechanics want to charge people a ton of money for a 30 min repair.  You who may be reading this just might have a Honda civic since there are tons and tons of people that own them, and I am sure you would like to save yourself some money. Cost of the Brake pads and Anti Seize lube from O'Reilly was 21 dollars. Now what are you going to do with the other 130 bucks you just saved?? ok to you technical people out there...."the 129 bucks you saved.  Either way you will still be able use all that money on your new Apple Ipad 2 that you are saving for...right?  Ok well check out the video here if you are a Honda Civic owner and Hit the Plus One button too!
